Is diffuse knapweed invasive?
Diffuse knapweed is adapted to grow in many different soil and climate conditions, but prefers arid and semi-arid areas. It produces a large number of seeds that can be widely dispersed by air and water currents, animals and human activities. The seeds can germinate quickly and form rosettes. When the plant matures, it produces a single branched stem that bears flowers and seeds. Considering that diffuse knapweed is a prolific seed producer, it can spread widely and establish quickly, regarded as a noxious weed in North America, Europe, and the Middle East.
