What is quinine used for?
Quinine, derived from quinine, is primarily used as a medication to treat malaria. It has antimalarial properties that help reduce fever and relieve muscle pain associated with the disease. However, due to resistance and side effects, it is often replaced by other antimalarial drugs. Quinine is also sometimes found in tonic water, giving it a bitter taste.
