How do you grow yellow crocus?
Spring flowering crocus may be planted in fall before 6-8 weeks of the first snowfall, while fall flowering crocus may be planted in late summer. Plant its corm 8 to 10 cm deep into the prepared soil, containers or raised beds in your garden. Individual corms may be spaced 5 to 10 cm in the containers and 15 to 20 cm in the garden soil. Dig a hole using a trowel or bulb planter to the desired depth and place corms with their flat ends facing downward. Fill in the hole with the garden soil or potting mix and press gently to remove air from the planting pit.
The stored nutrients in the corms are sufficient for the initial sprouting and vegetative growth of the plant whereas they need 120 days of cold before they bloom. The blooming period may vary in different species and hybrids under the same climatic conditions. Plant corms in groups or clusters rather than line sowing for their clustery blooms.
