Can you grow cape leadwort from cuttings?
Besides seeds, cape leadwortcan also be propagated from half ripe tip cuttings or, by dividing the rooted offshoots from the parent plant. When doing stem cutting, make a 10 cm cutting from a semi-ripe branch during the summer period, dip the cutting in a rooting powder for root stimulation and place the cutting is a well-draining pot and water lightly. Keep the soil moist and the cutting will take about 4 weeks to develop its root system. If you want to do root division, it should also be done during the autumn period when the flowers are fading. Remove the plant carefully from the ground with its root ball intact. Divide the Plumbago so that each division has at least three stems and the same number of roots. Transfer the divisions into the soil and care for it with the same conditions as with the parent plant.
