How do you propagate mason congo?
In spring, when the temperature begins to increase, mason congo can be divided to propagate new plants. Select a vigorously grown plant, soak and rinse its roots with water, remove all soil, and then divide the plant by cutting the roots. Each divided part should include some roots and 3-4 leaves. Put the divided plants aside for some time until the roots are drier and transplant them into fresh pots and place them in a shady spot for several days. After that, gradually increase their exposure to sunlight.
In the spring and fall, mason congo can also be propagated by cuttings. When the temperature is around 15 to 30 ℃, cut leaves that are one-year-or-older into small pieces, 8 to 12 cm long and insert them into sandy loam with 4 to 8 cm of the leaves remaining above the ground. Keep the soil moist and place them somewhere airy and well-lit. In one month, these plants should have developed adventitious roots. You can now transplant them into pots or to your garden.
