Is asiatic jasmine invasive?
Asiatic jasmine is a remarkably persistent plant and if left unchecked, it will spread and overtake your garden. It is an herbaceous perennial evergreen vine, USDA Hardiness Zones 7 to 10. This means that it is both cold and drought tolerant and it is well known for its spreading tendencies. It creates tall tangled groundcover mats which are very difficult to remove completely. Asiatic jasmine can also climb trees, fences, walls, and basically any structures. What makes asiatic jasmine such a successful invader is that it reproduces vegetatively very easily. Every branch has the potential of becoming the new "mother plant" because every stem starts sprouting new roots as soon as it touches the ground.
