Aloe petricola is a succulent plant that typically grows 18 to 24 inches (45 to 60 cm) tall and spreads 2 to 3 feet (60 to 90 cm) wide. The leaves are blue-gray, long, and narrow with a broad base and pointed tip, curving to create a rounded, ball-like shape. Its upper leaf surface has sparse small teeth, with more pronounced, sharp brown teeth along the leaf margins. In mid to late winter, aloe petricola puts on a show with bicolored flowers that are reddish-orange while in bud, blooming into cream or pale yellow with faint green striping and dark brown anthers, densely arranged in on an initially simple inflorescence that branches out with plant maturity.
