How to Grow and Care for Winter jasmine

Winter jasmine, also known as Winter-flowered jasmine, Winter-flowering jasmine

Winter jasmine is known for its resilience and is relatively low-maintenance, making it an easy plant to care for. Key care points include ensuring proper soil drainage to prevent root rot, and providing full sun to partial shade for optimal growth. Winter jasmine is distinguished by its vibrant yellow blossoms and tends to take on a sprawling, fountain-like form that reaches up to 4 feet (1.2 meters) as a shrub and extends to 10-15 feet (3-4.5 meters) in height and 3-6 feet (0.9-1.8 meters) wide when supported as a vine. The slender branches arch gracefully, and the stems are green and quadrangular. Before the foliage appears, winter jasmine announces early spring with funnel-shaped flowers, each with 6 petals and about 1-inch (2.5 cm) in diameter. The leaves are a glossy dark green, arranged oppositely with three leaflets per leaf. While the fruit is uncommon in cultivation, it may occasionally bear two-lobed blackberry-like berries.
