It is a herbaceous perennial plant growing to 25 cm tall, with alternate, oblong-lanceolate leaves 5 to 12 cm long and 2 to 4 cm broad. The flowers are produced on a 5 to 10 cm panicle, each flower with six white tepals 2 to 4 mm long.
