How to Grow and Care for Neanotis

Neanotis hirsuta (Neanotis hirsuta) is a perennial plant whose natural habitat includes damp forests, particularly close to riversides. However, it is more commonly encountered as a weed in coffee and tea plantations. Despite its weediness, it is not classified as an invasive species.

Neanotis kwangtungensis is a flowering plant of tropical and subtropical Asia. This perennial herb grows in forests, on slopes and along streams, mostly at lower elevations of 200 to 800 m. It produces small, white tubular flowers.

Neanotis formosana is a delicate, evergreen herbaceous plant thriving in warm, moist forested areas of Taiwan. It features lanceolate leaves and clusters of small, bright white flowers with a distinctive yellow center, which blossom prominently against the shiny green foliage. This contrast, along with its preference for shaded underbrush, makes neanotis formosana a charming component of its native habitat's understory.
