Turkish sage is an evergreen perennial that stands 1 to 2 feet tall (30 to 60 cm) with a spreading habit. Its soft, woolly, olive-green leaves are heart-shaped, measuring between 4 to 8 inches (10 to 20 cm) long and are supported by long petioles. From late spring into summer, turkish sage produces vertical, unbranched flowering stems that reach heights of 2 to 3 feet (60 to 90 cm). The stems showcase yellow hooded flowers arrayed in 3 to 5 distinct whorls, each approximately 2 inches (5 cm) wide.
