Coast redwood rises majestically, reaching heights between 18 to over 61 meters (60 to 200+ feet) with a distinctive conical form that becomes more columnar with age. Its base is notable for a pronounced flare. Sporting thick, reddish-brown bark, deeply grooved, it adds a rugged texture to the massive trunk.
