How to Grow and Care for Trinia

Honewort (Trinia glauca) is named Trinia after the German botanist Carl Bernhard von Trinius. This low-growing species is hard to find because of its small size, but its white flower clusters can be seen in contrast to its dry stony limestone habitats. It is a member of the same plant family as celery, parsley, and carrot.

Trinia hispida is distinctive for its sparse growth, with stems that shoot up from the base in different directions and produce star-like, white or green puffs of flowers with a pale green center. It grows in mid to high-altitude temperate grasslands and meadows.

Trinia multicaulis is a flowering perennial, featuring multiple slender stems that rise to display delicate inflorescences. Its fine leaves form a feathery collar around each stem, adapting trinia multicaulis to efficiently capture sunlight in congested habitats. The small, white flowers emerge in umbels, contributing to the plant's ethereal, cloud-like appearance.
