From Ground: Begin by
watering the carob tree plant, allowing the soil to dampen. This makes the removal process smoother and less harmful to the roots. Use a shovel or spade to dig a trench around the plant, wide enough to include the root ball. Work your spade gently underneath the root ball, then lift the plant carefully from the ground.
From Pot: Water the plant well. Turn the pot sideways, hold the plant steady, and pull off the container. Do not yank the plant out by the stem or trunk if it doesn’t yield; instead, tap the sides or bottom of the pot to loosen it.
From Seedling Tray: Make sure seedlings are well-watered before removing from the tray. Ease out the plant using a dibber or suitable tool, taking care not to damage the roots. Hold it by a leaf if possible, rather than by the stem.
