From Ground: First, water bush lily to dampen the soil. This helps to keep the root system intact during the transplant process. Use your shovel to gently dig a wide trench around the plant's root ball. Avoid cutting into the roots to keep them healthy. Once loosened, carefully lift the plant from the ground, preserving as much of the root system as possible.
From Pot: If bush lily is in a pot, water it thoroughly. Then, place your hand over the pot, holding the plant stem between your fingers. Tip the pot upside down and gently tap the rim on a hard surface. The plant should slide out, along with the root ball and soil.
From Seedling Tray: For seedlings, make sure the bush lily plant is well-hydrated. Using a trowel or your fingers, gently scoop around the base of the plant, lifting it from the tray, ensuring the root ball stays intact.
