From Ground: First, water the broad buckler fern to moisten the soil. Then, carefully dig around the plant using a spade or shovel, ensuring the root ball remains intact. Proceed to slowly work the spade under the root ball to lift the plant from its original location.
From Pot: If the broad buckler fern is in a pot, turn the pot sideways, hold the broad buckler fern close to the base, and pull out the broad buckler fern along with the soil. Avoid yanking or tugging the plant as it could damage the root system. In case it's stuck, tap the bottom and the sides of the pot to release it.
From Seedling Tray: If transplanting from a seedling tray, lightly water to moisten the soil. This makes it easy to remove the plant. Hold the broad buckler fern by its leaves and carefully pull it from the tray. Then, gently shake off any excess soil from the roots.
