From Ground: First, water the holywood plant to dampen the soil. Then, using your spade or shovel, dig a wide perimeter around the plant ensuring to keep the root ball intact. Be gentle to avoid damage to the roots. When placing your spade under the plant to lift it, make sure all roots are free of the soil before applying any lifting pressure. If they are not, continue to gently dig until they are. Once extricated, place the holywood in a wheelbarrow or container for transportation to its new spot.
From Pot: Begin by watering the holywood well and letting it drain. Carefully turn the pot sideways and gently guide the holywood out, supporting the root ball. If the plant is stuck, tap the pot's rim on a hard surface to loosen the root ball. Avoid pulling the plant by its stems or leaves.
From Seedling Tray: Water the holywood to saturate the cell then, using a transplanting trowel, gently remove the holywood from its cell. Be sure to support the root ball with your fingers to avoid stress.
