From Ground: First, deeply water the large gallberry to dampen the soil. Then, use a spade or shovel to dig a broad trench around the large gallberry, being cautious not to damage the root ball. Gently work the tool beneath the root ball to loosen it and lift the large gallberry carefully from its original place.
From Pot: Water the large gallberry thoroughly. Place your hand on the soil surface with the plant stem between your fingers. Turn the pot upside down and gently tap it to encourage the plant to slide out. If necessary, run a hand trowel around the inside edge to help separate the root ball from the pot.
From Seedling Tray: Moisten the soil in the tray. Use a spoon or a small stick to ease out the individual large gallberry seedlings, ensuring a clump of soil with the roots is kept intact to avoid root disturbance.
