From Ground: Begin by watering the trumpet lily plant to dampen the soil. Then, using your hand trowel, dig a wide ring around the plant to ensure the plant's root ball remains intact. Carefully work the trowel under the root ball to lift the plant gently from its original location.
From Pot: Water the plant thoroughly. Invert the pot, holding the trumpet lily plant at its base, and tap the rim of the pot on a hard surface. The root ball should slide out smoothly. If it resists, run a knife around the inside of the pot to loosen it.
From Seedling Tray: Water the seedlings and then carefully remove the trumpet lily individually. Gently tease the roots apart as this encourages them to spread and grow into the new soil.
