From Ground: Begin by moistening the soil around the dwarf white water lily to make digging easier. With your spade, dig a wide, shallow trench around the plant, making sure you keep the root ball intact. Work your spade under the root ball and carefully lift the plant from its current location.
From Pot: First, water your dwarf white water lily a few hours before the transplant to wet the soil and make the removal easier. Turn the pot upside down while holding the plant at its base, then gently remove the dwarf white water lily from the pot.
From Seedling Tray: Water the tray an hour or two before transplanting. Gently push the dwarf white water lily up from the bottom or ease it out using a spoon or fork, taking care to disturb the roots as little as possible.
