From Ground: Start by watering the timothy plant to make the soil wet and easier to dig. Use a spade or shovel to dig a wide ring around the plant, ensuring you preserve the root ball completely. Insert the spade under the root ball and gently lift the plant from its original location, taking care to prevent damage.
From Pot: Water the soil inside the pot so it's damp and the plant can be easily removed. Tip the pot sideways, holding your hand over the top of the soil as you gently tap the sides of the pot to loosen the soil and the plant. Pull the pot away rather than pulling the plant out to avoid damaging the roots.
From Seedling Tray: Allow the plants to grow large enough till the leaves of neighboring plants just touch. Water thoroughly before transplanting the seedlings. Gently press the soil below each cell or compartment to push each seedling upwards, helping to avoid damage.
