From Ground: First, soak the soil around the red campion to make digging it out easier. Carefully manoeuvre the spade around the plant, aiming to take as much of the root ball as possible. Lever the spade under the root ball and lift the plant out.
From Pot: Water the red campion well before beginning the transplant process. Tilt the pot on its side and gently ease the plant out. It may help to tap the bottom of the pot to loosen the root ball.
From Seedling Tray: Ensure the red campion seedling is well watered. Using a small trowel or spoon, dig in a circle around the seedling to create a small clump of soil that includes the root system. Gently lift the seedling out, being cautious not to damage the young roots.
