From Ground: Moisten the soil around the spiked speedwell plant one day before the planned removal. This makes it easier to maintain the root ball intact, which is important for successful transplanting. Dig a broad trench around the spiked speedwell using your shovel, making sure to not damage the root ball. Gently lift the spiked speedwell using the shovel.
From a Pot: Water the plant a day before transplanting it. Gently tip the pot sideways and support the main stem of spiked speedwell in your hand. Then carefully pull out the plant while pressing the sides of the pot.
From Seedling Tray: Water the seedlings. Use a garden trowel or similar tool to gently pry each cell or block holding the young spiked speedwell plant. Be extremely careful not to damage fragile roots.
