From the Ground: Begin by watering the common vetch plant and the surrounding soil. This will make excavation easier and give the plant a drink before it's moved. Use a shovel or spade to dig a generous trench around the plant, ensuring to keep the root system intact. Gently lift the plant from the ground, keeping as much of the soil attached to the roots as possible.
From a Pot: Water the common vetch and the surrounding soil in the pot. Then, tip the pot to the side and gently pull out the plant. If the plant is stuck, you can use a trowel to gently loosen the soil around the edges of the pot.
From a Seedling Tray: Water the common vetch and the soil in the seedling tray. This will make the seedlings easier to remove. Gently lift the common vetch from the tray, making sure not to damage the tender roots.
