One of the first things to consider when growing Enchanter's- nightshade is the composition of the soil. This plant prefers a well-draining soil that is rich in organic matter. Ideally, the soil should be loamy, as loam contains a balanced mixture of sand, silt, and clay, which provides excellent drainage while retaining moisture and nutrients. Sandy soils, which drain too quickly, or heavy clay soils, which retain too much water, may require modification to better suit Enchanter's- nightshade.
