Lady of the night plants (genus Brunfelsia) can be moderately to severely toxic to dogs; a veterinary consult is advised. All parts of these plants contain the toxin brunfeslamidine, with the berries and seed pods tending to contain the highest concentrations. Symptoms of brunfelsamidine poisoning are varied and may include diarrhea, vomiting, seizures, tremors, lethargy, excessive drooling, sneezing, coughing, and a lack of coordination.
