Is Vasevine toxic to humans?
The vasevine is a severely poisonous plant that causes serious health issues when ingested, while touching the plant leads to contact dermatitis. The most toxic parts of the plant are said to be leaves and the plant's sap, although all parts may be poisonous as well. Ingesting any part of the vasevine can cause immediate, painful burning of the mouth, lips, and tongue. The further symptoms of poisoning include severe gastrointestinal upset such as nausea, abdominal pain, vomiting, and diarrhea, as well as excessive salivation, confusion, dizziness, fainting, and convulsions. Contact dermatitis is manifested in skin redness, itching, swelling, blisters, and rash.
