Is Tenweeks stock toxic to humans?
Tenweeks stock plants would not be dangerous if not for human intervention. These plants hyper-accumulate lead from the soil, which makes them great for cleansing soil, but dangerous to anyone that eats stock plants grown from polluted soil. Since most yards are bordered on multiple sides by roads, the buildup of pollutants at field edges will cause any of these plants that grow there to contain lead. As nice as this plant's flowers look, it needs to be eradicated from urban yards frequented by small children. Otherwise, those who eat it will slowly (or sometimes more quickly depending on how much is eaten) develop lead poisoning. Symptoms include stomach upset, diarrhea, vomiting, worsening neurological issues, alterations in the blood, depressed immunity, infertility, and kidney failure.
