Is Buckler-leaved sorrel toxic to cat?

The buckler-leaved sorrel is moderately to severely toxic to cats, containing tiny, sharp calcium oxalate crystals. The crystals are found throughout the entire plant, so ingestion of any part can cause a reaction in your cat. The crystals may lodge in your cat's throat and digestive tract for up to two weeks. Symptoms include vomiting and diarrhea, as well as labored breathing and seizures. It's important to contact your veterinarian if you suspect your cat has ingested any part of this plant.

Is Buckler-leaved sorrel toxic to dog?

Buckler-leaved sorrel is mildly toxic to dogs, with severe reactions to the plant being rare (since huge quantities must be ingested for such reactions to occur). All parts of the plant contain small amounts of soluble oxalates, which may cause a burning sensation in and around the mouth and throat, as well as an upset stomach (sometimes accompanied by vomiting and diarrhea). Dogs may accidentally ingest some if they are given table scraps from a dish that contained the plant.
