Water: Achillea micrantha prefers minimal watering, relying on natural rainfall. Supplement if rainfall is under 25 mm (1 in) weekly. Avoid overwatering to prevent excessive height and unattractive growth. Use well-drained soil to prevent root rot caused by stagnant water.
Fertilize: Achillea micrantha requires minimal fertilizer, as excess leads to excessive growth. Apply organic fertilizer 1-2 times during the spring growing season. Avoid high nitrogen fertilizers, as they can alter flower color.
Pruning: In late spring, prune overgrown stems of achillea micrantha to prevent toppling. During hot, rainy summers, remove withered lower leaves. Post-flowering, cut off dead stalks, and trim withered stems and leaves at fall's end. The plant will resprout the following year.
Propagation: Achillea micrantha can be propagated in spring, summer, and fall through seed, division, or cutting methods. Seeds germinate in about a week when sown at 0.5 cm depth. For division, separate clumps in spring. Cuttings should be 5-10 cm long, taking 15-20 days to root.
