Agathosma is small shrubs and subshrubs, mostly with erect woody stems reaching 30 to 100 cm tall, but low-growing and prostrate in some species. The leaves are usually opposite, ericoid, often crowded, simple, entire. The flowers are produced in terminal clusters, with five white, pink, red or purple, petals. This genus includes about 140 species. Agathosma is native to the southern part of Africa.
Propagation:
Propagation of agathosma is achieved via seed sowing and semi-hardwood cuttings. Essential conditions include well-draining, acidic soil, adequate light, and moderate temperatures, while avoiding excess moisture to prevent root rot. Steps include harvesting cuttings, using rooting hormone, planting in peat and perlite, and maintaining moisture.
