Water:
Amaryllis Gervase thrives in moist environments, requiring frequent watering during its growing season—every 1-2 days in spring and summer, and daily during flowering. In winter, reduce to 1-2 times per week. Use aged tap water and avoid direct watering on the bulb; mist for humidity.
Fertilize:
Amaryllis Gervase should be fertilized monthly with phosphate and potash before bloom, but stop once flowers appear. After flowering, switch to high nitrogen and potassium fertilizers. Avoid over-fertilization to prevent burning; insufficient fertilizer may result in weak growth and poor flowering. Stop during dormancy.
Pruning:
Prune amaryllis Gervase in early to late spring after flowering to promote healthy growth and future blooms. Remove spent blooms, dead leaves, and stalks near the bulb. Ensure clean cuts to prevent disease, enhance air circulation, and conserve energy. Regular monitoring for pests is advised.
Propagation:
Amaryllis Gervase propagates through seeding, bulb division, and cuttage, with bulb division being the preferred method for home planting. After division, allow the bulbs to dry for 2 days, then plant 2/3 of the bulb in a peat-sandy mix, watering once until new leaves appear.
