Water: Originating from moist, fertile regions, chinese angelica prefers consistent moisture and requires weekly watering to thrive. While typically grown outdoors, it benefits from natural rainfall during the growing season, which supports its lush growth and healthy life cycle.
Fertilize: Chinese angelica requires regular fertilization with balanced nutrients, using a complete fertilizer like 10-10-10 diluted to half-strength every three months during the growing season. Adjust fertilization in fall and winter, ensuring thorough watering post-application. Use gloves and avoid over-fertilizing to prevent issues.
Pruning: Chinese angelica, renowned for its aromatic roots and medicinal qualities, thrives with annual pruning in early to late spring. Remove dead stems to encourage robust growth and enhance air circulation. Sanitize tools to prevent infections, ensuring the plant remains attractive and manageable.
Propagation: Chinese angelica is prized for its medicinal and culinary benefits. Successful germination occurs in well-drained, fertile soil with consistent moisture, avoiding waterlogging. Seeds should be sown superficially for light exposure, with gentle warmth and space to promote healthy root and foliage development.
