Anthericum is a genus of rhizomatous perennial plants in the family Asparagaceae, subfamily Agavoideae. The species have rhizomatous or tuberous roots, long narrow leaves and branched stems carrying starry white flowers. This genus includes about 65 species. The members of this genus occur mainly in the tropics and southern Africa and Madagascar, but are also represented in Europe.
Water:
Originating from moderate climates, anthericum thrives in evenly moist soil, requiring weekly watering. It prefers a well-draining soil mix to prevent waterlogging, ensuring healthy roots. Anthericum maintains balanced water habits without needing frequent watering or being extremely drought-tolerant.
Propagation:
To propagate anthericum, use division or seed sowing. Provide bright light, 15-20°C (59-68°F), and well-draining soil. Avoid waterlogging and handle carefully during division. For division, dig up the plant, separate sections with roots, replant at the same depth, and water moderately. Sow seeds in spring.
