Water:
Velvety anthurium prefers a humid environment and requires watering twice weekly in summer (half a glass) and once weekly in winter (under half a glass). Use rain or distilled water to prevent mineral buildup. Monitor for over-watering and avoid water on leaves to prevent damage.
Fertilize:
Velvety anthurium requires fertilization every three to four months, ideally mixing slow-release fertilizer during repotting in early spring. Use liquid fertilizer at other times, avoiding winter. Over-fertilization may cause yellowing leaves; stop fertilization temporarily. Phosphorus fertilizers enhance flowering.
Pruning:
Prune yellowing or dying flowers and leaves from velvety anthurium promptly to prevent nutrient depletion and encourage the growth of new foliage and blooms.
