Aphananthe is a small genus of evergreen trees in the family Cannabaceae. Leaves are alternate on the stem and toothed. Flowers are unisexual, fruit form as drupes. Around six species are recognised, found in Madagascar, South-east Asia, Mexico and Australia.
Water:
Aphananthe thrives in areas with intermittent rainfall, showing moderate drought tolerance. It requires watering every 2-3 weeks to avoid overwatering. Typically grown outdoors, aphananthe experiences dormancy linked to water availability and seasonal changes.
Propagation:
Propagation of aphananthe can be performed via seeds or hardwood cuttings, requiring well-draining soil, sunlight, and moderate temperatures. Stratify seeds to enhance viability and root semi-hardwood cuttings in high humidity. Maintain moist substrate and avoid direct sunlight during the rooting phase.
