Arachis are a genus containing around 70 species of flowering plants. The best-known member of this family is the edible peanut, which is an important food crop. Other species are also cultivated as animal forage and used as an important source of nitrogen in agroforestry and permaculture projects.
Water:
Originating from arid regions, arachis is highly drought-tolerant and requires watering once a week. Its efficient root system aids in water uptake and storage, allowing survival in low moisture. Typically grown outdoors, arachis benefits from mulching to retain soil moisture during its growing season.
Propagation:
Arachis is primarily propagated through seed sowing, requiring full sun, warm temperatures (25-30°C), and well-draining soil. Soak seeds for 4-6 hours before planting 3-5 cm deep, keep soil moist, and thin seedlings for optimal growth, while managing pests and diseases.
