Water: Adapted to rocky habitats, drummond's rockcress thrives in dry conditions and is drought-tolerant. It requires weekly watering and flourishes in well-draining soil, which prevents root rot during the growing season, making it ideal for outdoor cultivation.
Fertilize: For drummond's rockcress, use balanced fertilizers in spring and high-nitrogen options during early growth. Fertilize bi-weekly at half-strength to enhance flowering and health. Avoid over-fertilization, especially in autumn. Tips: water before fertilizing and ensure even distribution away from the stem.
Pruning: Drummond's rockcress has slender stems and delicate flowers, needing light pruning mainly in early to late spring. Remove dead or damaged stems for health, avoiding heavy pruning to minimize stress. Light shaping post-flowering enhances appearance, while pruning improves air circulation and prevents disease.
Propagation: Native to rocky terrains, drummond's rockcress is propagated by sowing seeds in well-draining soil with ample light. Stratify seeds to mimic winter conditions and press them lightly into the soil. Keep moist without overwatering. Germination may be slow and uneven; transplant seedlings carefully to avoid root disturbance.
