Serrets comprises over 135 species of trees, shrubs, and subshrubs found in the New World tropics and subtropics. The plants have entire leaves, yellow flowers, and fleshy, edible fruits called nance.
Water:
Serrets thrives in humid, moist conditions, resembling its tropical habitat. It needs moderate watering every two weeks, allowing soil to dry slightly in between. As an evergreen, consistent moisture is essential, particularly during the growing season for healthy foliage and support of new growth.
Propagation:
Propagation of serrets can be achieved through seeds and cuttings. Success requires warm temperatures, high humidity, and well-draining soil. Seeds may need scarification or soaking for better germination. Cuttings should be healthy 4-6 inches long, treated with rooting hormone, and placed in a moist medium.
