Appearance of each part There are 2-4 leaves 15 to 25 cm in length and 6 to 8 cm in width. On the back of the leaf about 14 hairs grow per mm2. The corm is 1.5 to 2.5 cm long and 1.5 to 2.5 cm in diameter in the form of an oval sphere with a lifetime of more than 10 years. The roots form a winter bud with a diameter of 2 to 3 mm a length of about 8 cm and a width of about 2 cm in winter. After the shoots are deployed the flower stem grows to a height of 30 to 50 cm with a diameter of about 5 mm. In spring-summer 7-15 flowers are sparsely placed on top. The flower stems are upright and have 1 to 2 leaves. The flowers bloom in order from the bottom and open up almost horizontally. There are three yellow-green strips and two side petals. The reddish brown lip flaps 3 and hangs down. The left and right side fissures are small and the lower middle fissure is wrinkled resembling a monkey's face. The pole is light yellowish green 5 to 6 mm long and 4 mm wide.

Water:
Originating from moist forest floors, hardy calanthe orchid prefers evenly moist soil and shows moderate drought tolerance. Water weekly to maintain hydration; outdoor cultivation benefits from natural rainfall. Its growth cycle relies on water availability, making proper irrigation vital during active growth periods.
Fertilize:
For optimal growth, hardy calanthe orchid requires balanced fertilizers (20-20-20) biweekly during active growth, with high phosphorus for blooming. Use quarter strength in cold months, avoiding over-fertilization to prevent root damage. Adjust feeding based on lifecycle stages to encourage vigorous flowers and foliage.
Pruning:
Hardy calanthe orchid requires pruning in late winter to early spring to remove dead leaves and spent stems, promoting health and growth. This practice improves air circulation and reduces disease risk. Sterilizing tools is essential to prevent infection, ensuring a robust and attractive plant.
Propagation:
Hardy calanthe orchid is a resilient perennial orchid ideal for temperate climates. To propagate, use division by separating pseudobulbs with at least one growth point each. Pot in well-draining orchid medium, ensuring indirect light and consistent moisture to encourage healthy root development.
