Capsella are a small group of flowering plants in the mustard family, named for their distinctive, triangular fruits that look much like a purse. Some capsella are edible and are incorporated into many cuisines such as salads, wontons, soups, and other east Asian dishes. Several species within the genus are also used as a supplemental source of animal feed.
Water:
Capsella thrives with consistent moisture, preferring evenly moist soil. It requires weekly watering to maintain balance between drought resistance and hydration. As an outdoor herbaceous plant, its growth cycle is closely linked to water availability, affecting both vegetative and reproductive phases.
Propagation:
To propagate capsella, utilize seeds, ensuring well-drained soil, consistent moisture, and full sunlight or partial shade. Ideal germination temperatures are 12°C to 18°C. Sow seeds in spring or autumn; prepare a seedbed, thin seedlings, and transplant them adequately spaced.
