Bur parsley is a genus of flowering plants in the carrot family, containing only one member. It is native to Europe, North Africa, and the Middle East as far east as Iran. Bur parsley is an annual up to 41 cm tall with trailing stems. Leaves are highly divided into many small leaflets. Flowers are produced in an umbel of 2 to 5 flowers, each with white or pink petals. Fruit is an oblong capsule with many hooked spines on the surface.
Water:
Bur parsley thrives in moderate climates and requires consistent soil moisture without waterlogging. Weekly watering is essential for its health, particularly during the active growing season, promoting optimal growth and resilience through careful water management.
Propagation:
Propagation of bur parsley involves seed sowing in well-draining soil with full sun to partial shade and temperatures around 21°C (70°F). Surface-sow seeds for light exposure, keeping soil consistently moist. Transplant seedlings once they are sturdy enough to handle, noting challenges such as dormancy and overwatering sensitivity.
