Usually very important to the ecosystems they are a part of, ceiba trees are a staple for some Amazonian tribes of call these trees their home all through the jungles of Eastern Peru. Their leaves provide a food source for butterflies, moths, and certain leaf-miner insects as well. Several larger ceiba are also the national tree of Guatemala.
Water:
Adapted to sporadic rainfall, ceiba thrives with moderate hydration and is drought-tolerant. It benefits from watering every 1-2 weeks, enjoying consistent moisture for optimal growth. Its trunk stores water, enabling it to flourish in arid environments, showcasing its remarkable adaptability.
Propagation:
To propagate ceiba, soak seeds for 24 hours, then sow in a sandy soil mix. Ensure full light, warm temperatures, and maintain soil moisture without overwatering. Transplant seedlings when strong. Germination is moderate in difficulty, primarily due to a long germination period.
