Chonemorpha is a genus that consists of large evergreen vigorous woody vines with milky sap from India, Sri Lanka, to Southeast Asia, the Philippines and South China. The plants have pubescent to almost tomentose branches, leaves and inflorescences. Large, corrugated, ovate leaves are deep glossly green, opposite, pale and hairy beneath. Very fragrant, funnel-shaped, showy flowers have long-peduncled and terminal cymes. Disk cupular have many seeds, ovate-shaped, compressed, with scanty endosperm, with a tuft of hairs at one end, dark brown.
Water:
Chonemorpha flourishes in humid, moist conditions similar to its tropical origins and prefers weekly watering for optimal growth. While it can withstand short dry spells, it thrives outdoors, benefiting from natural rainfall to enhance its growth during the season.
Propagation:
Propagation of chonemorpha primarily involves seed sowing and stem cuttings, requiring warmth, bright indirect light, and well-draining soil. Success is influenced by rooting hormone application and careful moisture management. Ensure healthy starting materials and transplant when established, noting moderate difficulty due to seed dormancy and rot risk.
