Water:
Crassula tecta thrives in arid environments, needing minimal water and preferring dry conditions. Water every three weeks, allowing soil to fully dry. Use a well-draining mix indoors to prevent root rot. During winter, crassula tecta enters dormancy, further reducing water needs.
Fertilize:
Most crassula tecta thrive in poor conditions and generally do not require fertilization. A small amount of slow-release fertilizer can be applied in early summer, but avoid fertilization during dormancy to prevent nutrient damage.
Pruning:
To maintain the shape of crassula tecta, pruning is needed in spring and autumn, removing dense or redundant branches. Use a knife, scissors, and sulfur powder. For propagation, cut 5-6 leaf stems in spring or autumn, heal the wound with sulfur powder, and plant in slightly moist soil.
Propagation:
Propagation of crassula tecta is commonly achieved through leaf cuttings, particularly in spring and autumn. Cut a healthy leaf, lay it on slightly humid soil at 25℃ (77℉) under bright, scattered light. A bud typically develops at the leaf base within one to two weeks.
