Crithmum is a monospecific genus of flowering plant in the carrot family Apiaceae, with the sole species. It is found on southern and western coasts of Britain and Ireland, on mediterranean and western coasts of Europe including the Canary Islands, North Africa and the Black Sea. Crithmum has fleshy, divided aromatic leaves.
Water:
Crithmum originates from rocky coastal areas, thriving in saline, arid conditions. It prefers drier environments and exhibits drought tolerance. In cultivation, water weekly for optimal health. Best grown outdoors, crithmum benefits from natural rainfall and sea mist, enhancing its unique resilient, succulent-like traits.
Propagation:
Crithmum is propagated via seed sowing, division, or cuttings. Ensure full to partial sunlight, well-draining soil, and moderate temperatures. Use seed stratification for sowing. For cuttings, use a healthy shoot, dip in rooting hormone, and keep warm and moist until rooted. Transplant once established.
