Water: Dahlia 'Menorca' thrives with large leaves and requires ample water but is susceptible to root rot from excessive moisture. Water promptly during drought and ensure good drainage in rainy seasons. Initially, water daily on sunny days; increase amounts during later growth stages, preferably before sunrise or after sunset.
Fertilize: Dahlia 'Menorca' requires fertile soil and a liquid fertilizer, applied every 10-15 days initially, transitioning to every 7-10 days post-bud emergence. Fertilization ceases when buds show color, avoiding high temperatures. Growth indicators include light leaves for deficiency and scorched tips for excess.
Pruning: Pruning dahlia 'Menorca' in early spring promotes new growth and vibrant blooms. Remove dead or weak stems for better air circulation, cutting back by one-third post-flowering. Use clean, sharp tools to prevent disease, enhancing both aesthetics and plant health.
Propagation: Propagation of dahlia 'Menorca' mainly occurs through root division and cutting, with cutting being preferred for its rapid rooting. For root division, tubers are planted at 15℃ in early spring. Cuttings should be made when buds reach 3-5 cm, maintaining humidity at 70%-75% for optimal growth.
