Socotran Fig is a pachycaul shrub-like succulent endemic to Africa. The fleshy coral-like green leaves form around the stem and can assume extraordinary forms. The yellowish main stem is disproportionately enlarged for water storage, and despite its tough-looking appearance, the epidermis can easily be injured by a fingernail where it emits a white latex sap.

Water:
Socotran Fig, native to Socotra's arid regions, exhibits excellent drought tolerance. It thrives in dry conditions, requiring watering every three weeks. Better suited for indoor growth due to humidity control, socotran Fig slows its growth in hot months to conserve water.
Pruning:
Socotran Fig thrives with early spring pruning, helping regenerate growth. Remove dead branches, shape, and improve airflow using clean, sharp tools to prevent disease. Regular pruning enhances vitality and aesthetic appeal, promoting healthier, more vigorous growth.
