Paper bush are a small genus of slow-growing evergreen or deciduous shrubs, the bark of which was traditionally used as paper and wallpaper. The Latin name of this genus, Edgeworthia, honors the Irish botanist Michael Pakenham (1812-1881). Paper bush plants can flower very early—in late winter. Many species have a pleasant aroma.
Water:
Paper bush prefers consistent moisture, thriving in even damp soil with moderate drought tolerance. Watering every 1-2 weeks is ideal. Typically grown outdoors, paper bush flourishes with damp soil during its active growing season, benefiting from conditions that mimic its moist woodland origins.
