Embelia is a genus of climbing shrubs once placed in the family Myrsinaceae, which is now included in the Primulaceae. There are about 130 species which occur in tropical and subtropical areas across a wide range including Africa and Madagascar and from eastern Asia to the Pacific Islands as well as Australia.
Water:
Embelia thrives with deep but infrequent watering, ideally every three weeks, reflecting its drought-resistant traits. Best suited for indoor cultivation, it maintains year-round foliage due to effective water retention, adapting well to stable moisture levels despite fluctuating indoor humidity.
Propagation:
To propagate embelia , utilize seed sowing or cuttings in bright, indirect light with warm temperatures and well-draining soil. Enhance seed germination through scarification or soaking, and employ rooting hormones for cuttings. Maintain consistent moisture and warmth for successful root establishment before transplanting.
